St Hallett
St Hallett Blackwell Shiraz CORK 2018 - OOS

The wine was first released in 1994, in honour of Stuart Blackwell, winemaker for more than three decades and a tireless contributor to the St Hallett story. The fruit is sourced predominately from Northern Barossa with the red brown clay soils creating wines with hallmark characteristics of black plum, cherries and dark chocolate’, Helen McCarthy, Chief Winemaker.
This wine is a vibrant deep red colour with purple hues and the nose displays a bright bouquet with layers of blackberry, dark chocolate and hints of vanilla. A full bodied wine with excellent framework and a multitude of layers. Instantly apparent are blackberry and black cherry fruit with hints of dark chocolate and vanilla characters laying over top. A very decadent and opulent wine with a balanced palate, excellent structure and refined texture.
Peak drinking 2035 – 2040
"There is a deep well of flavour in this wine, given an extra measure of complexity by more spice and licorice than usual thanks to a warm, though very successful, vintage. The black-fruited savoury grip echoes the claret-style bottle, the length impressive. 14.5% alc, screwcap96 points, drink to 2038" JAMES HALLIDAY- WINE COLUMNIST @winecompanion - THE WEEKEND AUSTRALIAN MAGAZINE DECEMBER 5, 2020
95 Points -Andrew Caillard MW 2020
